With 2018 drawing to a close, it’s fair to say it has been a great year for the Green Club. Not only did we celebrate our two-year anniversary, we also welcomed our 2,500th member – and are still counting.
We are looking back at a year in which we were able to offer you lots of content to advance your knowledge. First of all, we offered you more than 25 online CET modules with both clinical topics like incomitant strabismus, colour vision and retinal vein occlusion, and topics like patient communication. With the points from Clinical Conference included, more than 4,000 CET points have been earned by all of the members combined this year.
Secondly, many videos from renowned optometry professionals were shared, like a few from Dr Teifi James, a consultant ophthalmic surgeon, who talked about what conditions present at what ages and why some conditions are more common in certain age groups. Also, the lectures from key-note speakers Harrison Weisinger and Philip Morgan from the 2018 Clinical Conference were presented in bite-sized videos at the platform.
The platform also offered news on latest developments within the industry, like research or clinical events. On top of that, the Green Club has hosted multiple local events across countries in the Northern European region, with special guests like eye doctors or other industry experts who shared their insights.
Ready for 2019
This and many other things have been the Green Club’s focus for 2018 – but of course, the club is already preparing for the new year. More clinical articles, videos and online modules will be added to the platform. Again, Green Club will be hosting or be present at local events – so check out the platform if there’s one near you.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019 – and are looking forward to ‘seeing’ you again in the new year!
