Coming up: Nordic Contact Lens Forum 2019

An optical event that’s worth going to this year is the Nordic Contact Lens Forum (NCLF) – which is sponsored by CooperVision and takes place on Saturday 27 April in Stockholm. This year’s conference is all about the future.

The NCLF is a platform for discussing the latest trends and insights in the optical industry, and a meeting place for contact lens professionals. Several lectures from industry leaders will make sure you’ll get up to date with the latest trends, including researcher James Wolffsohn, optometrist and last year’s “optician of the year” Erik Robertstad and contact lens researcher Lyndon Jones. And if that isn’t enough, you can also attend lectures from speakers from outside the industry, like trendspotting futurologist Magnus Lindkvist, who will tell you all about current and future trends, and Rebecca Kortenius (Facebook) who will give insight into key trends in social media.

The event, hosted by optometrist and all-rounder Sarah Morgan, is also an opportunity to meet peers and talk to business leaders, to boost your commercial competence and to educate yourself at the same time. And while you’re there, you’ll also receive 6 (Sweden, Denmark, Norway) or 4 (Finland) CET points.

Besides updating yourself on the future of the industry, you’ll also have the opportunity to win a Nordic Optical Award in four categories: best optician, best sales person, best independent store and best multi-practice store of the year. These awards were founded to recognise extraordinary achievements within the contact lens industry and will be presented during the gala dinner.
