Although the majority of computer users are pre-presbyopic, there is evidence to suggest that there is an increase in computer and technology use in presbyopes, with 87% of people aged between 55–64 having internet access. Many of the traditional visual corrections such as bifocals, progressive lenses and single vision readers do not meet the requirements of modern technology users. This has led, in recent years, to the creation of a range of spectacle lenses designed to meet those needs. A whole range of alternative spectacle lens designs are available that claim to meet our visual needs.
