This article provides a revision of convergence insufficiency, a common binocular vision problem affecting patients attending optometric practice with eye strain symptoms and reduced convergence function. Convergence insufficiency causes difficulties in near vision, including reading paperwork or computer devices at closer working distances. It can lead to discomfort and a reduction of the ability to perform near tasks, resulting in poor academic or work performance. Therefore, being able to advise or treat this condition effectively is important for optometrists.
